Taptix Machines
Serendipity in gaming is only attainable when playing the most trusted slot machines for Canadian players.
How many times have you played a slot machine, only to be met with loss, after loss, after loss? Sure, the games are designed to profit casinos more than players, but sometimes it sure feels like they’re are programmed to take a lot more money than they pay out.
The way today’s slots are made, that could happen at random. But odds are, it won’t happen every time. In fact, odds are that players should only lose around 10-15% of their investment. So if you’re losing 100% of your money, 100% of the time, something is amiss.
Come on out to Delta Bingo & Gaming, St.Clair. We're bingo and so much more! Now with Digital Bingo, the Red 7 Eatery and TapTix Machines. It is unceded territory and is inhabited by the Ojibwe, Potawatomi, and Odawa peoples of the Walpole Island First Nation, who call it Bkejwanong, meaning 'where the waters divide' in Anishinaabemowin. In Ontario, they are called TapTix machines (because it’s like tapping a button to play a scratch off ticket). Whatever name they may go by, if the casino or gaming facility doesn’t call them “slot machines”, they are not real class iii slot machines. #1 Canadian-Friendly Casino for 2021. Come play our new taptix machines with more than 5 unique game themes, Taptix is fun, easy to play, with many of our machines featuring multi-play and progressive jackpots. See the Jackpots here. View House Rules and Service Policy. Must be 18 years of age or older. Government-issued photo identification may be required. Must be 19 years of age or older to be served alcohol.
As for the TapTix machines, they are, technically speaking, different than slots. The latter’s computer has a “random-number generator” that determines the result of each virtual spin.
It could be that you’re forgetting the golden rule of knowing when to quit. If you win money, but continue playing until your bankroll is completely drained, that’s on you. But it could also be that you’re not playing the right slot machines.
You should always be able to trust that the games you’re playing abide by the regulatory guidelines of their authoritative jurisdiction. What does that mean? Well, to put it simply, every government that regulates gambling sets a standard for long-term payouts. If the games aren’t properly regulated, they cannot be trusted.
Trusting Slot Machine RTP Regulation
All land-based casinos are obligated to program their slots to payout at a minimum payback percentage, or return to player (RTP). For instance, slot machines in Ontario must payout a minimum of 85%. This means that, in the long term (over millions of spins), each game will return $85 for every $100 it takes in.
By those standards, we can assume that any provincially regulated slot machine located in Ontario can be trusted to meet its RTP over time. The games cannot be programmed to simply rip players off. If they were, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, which facilitates regular audits of the province’s gaming facilities, would impose a mighty stiff penalty on the operator.
Then again, 85% RTP isn’t what I’d call a great slot machine. Most casinos will set their RTP higher than the mandatory minimum, just to remain competitive, but they don’t have to. And that knowledge should be enough to give any educated player pause.
If you think that’s a bad rate, though, take a look at the laws governing Las Vegas slot machines. The Nevada Gaming Control Board only requires statewide casinos to set their slots at a minimum 75% RTP. Again, most casinos will opt for a higher payback rate, but knowing that the machine you’re playing could carry an abysmal 75% RTP is pretty scary.
When Slot Machines Aren’t Really Slot Machines
The above standards apply to genuine slot machines in Ontario. But what about slot machines that appear to be slot machines, but aren’t really slot machines? Confused yet? Let me explain.
Ontario is home to a special type of game known as ‘TapTix‘. These devices, found in charitable gaming facilities, look exactly like the slot machines played in traditional casinos. They have reels like slot machines, a spin button like slots machines, and present win/loss results like a slot machines. But in reality, they are electronic versions of pull tab tickets.
According to the OLG TapTix info page, “The odds of winning a prize vary by game, from 1 in 1.91 to 1 in 3.15.” Not only that, but the “odds may be subject to change and may vary by site.”
A game with odds of “1 in 1.91” translates to a win rate of 52.356%, scaling down to 31.746% at “1 in 3.15”. So you might win on anywhere from just under one-third, to slightly above one-half, of your plays. Compared to real slot machines, those are terrible odds.

Most Trusted Slot Machines For Canadian Players
So where can Canadians find the trusted slot machines that are strictly regulated, and offer decent RTPs? They’re not actually located in Canada at all. The best games are available over the internet, provided by international operators.
Don’t go running off looking for any online casino to play at. Not all software brands operate under the same guidelines. The most trusted slots of all are those developed by Microgaming. This company adheres to the internet gaming regulatory regime of the Isle of Man, and is certified by eCOGRA.
The crew at eCOGRA, an independent auditing firm, runs all of Microgaming’s interactive slot machines (and other games – around 900 in all) through a rigorous testing process each and every month. Each slot machine has its reels spun a minimum of one million times to ensure the RTP meets or exceeds the standard.
Those certified monthly payback percentage reports are made available to players at all times. You can head over to any Microgaming-powered casino, like Royal Vegas, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the “eCOGRA Safe & Fair” logo to see the results for yourself.
In August 2017, Microgmaing slots at Royal Vegas paid an average RTP of 96.06%. That’s a heck of a lot better than any of the slots (or TapTix) at Canada’s land-based casinos, or its provincially-regulated online casino website, PlayOLG.com (which operates under the same guidelines). So if you really want to play the highest paying and most trusted slot machines for Canadian players, it’s time to start looking outside the proverbial box.
Time Limited Offer For Canadian Players -$1200 Free Play-through Bonus (not a typo)
Royal Vegas is going crazy with their promos this month if you are a Canadian based player. They are a serious operator and accept a host of easy deposit options such as eCheck. Quick payouts, and highly recommended.
